What it is like
A herb. It grows 25-50 cm tall. It has a creeping rhizome. This is 1 cm thick. There are 4-9 leaves. The leaves are oval to oblong and 8-17 cm long by 3-6.5 cm wide. The base is rounded. Flowers occur singly. The fruit are red berries when ripe.
