What it is like

A tree. It grows 14 m tall. The leaves are broadly oval and 10-17 cm long by 5-10 cm wide. They are leathery. The flowers are usually in groups of 3 or 4 and withouta stalk. They are crowded at the tip of the branches. The petals are white.

There are about 11 Carallia species.


Where it is found

A tropical plant. It grows between 600-1500 m above sea level in Yunnan in China. It grows in monsoonal forest and subtropical broad-leaved evergreen forest.
