What it is like
A shrub or small tree. It grows 6.5 m tall. The trunk can be 9 cm across. The bark is brown and slightly cracked along its length. The leaves are shiny on the supper surface. The flowers are white and in the axils of leaves. The fruit is fleshy and black when ripe.

It is a tropical plant. It grows in evergreen gallery forests.
