What it is like

A large evergreen tree. The bark is grey. The leaves are broadly oval or sword shape. They are 15-22 cm long by 4-8 cm wide. There are 7-15 pairs of side veins. The leaf stalks are 2-3 cm long. Young leaves are reddish. The flowers are in groups near the ends of branches. The flowers are yellowish-green. They are 7 mm across. The fruit are a flattened round shape. They are 1.2 cm across. The tepals remain attached to the fruit.

Where it is found

It is a subtropical plant. It is in broad-leaved forest from sea level to 1,400 m altitude in Taiwan.
