What it is like

A fig. It is a tree. It grows 12-26 m tall. The trunk can be 60-90 cm across. The crown is wide and roundish. The leaves are broadly oval with slightly wavy edges. The fruit are about 1 cm across.

Where it is found

It is a tropical and subtropical plant. It grows in the rainforest at higher altitudes. It is best in a sunny position. In Argentina it grows from sea level to 1,300 m above sea level.
