An annual herb. It is softly hairy. The leaflets are oblong. The flowers are blue. They are 15-17 mm long. The flowers are in irregular rings. The pods are 40-50 mm long and 13-20 mm wide. They are softly hairy and dark reddish-brown when ripe.

There are about 200 Lupinus species.


Where it is found

It is a Mediterranean climate plant. It grows on light sandy acid soils.
