What it is like

A tree. It grows 18 m high. The fruit are yellow to orange. The fruit are slightly flattened. They are 2 cm long and 2.5 cm wide. They can occur singly or in clusters or 2 or 3 along slender branches. The skin is thick and spongy. There are several seeds in a sweet white pulp.

It is a tropical plant. It is often along the edges of palm swamps. It grows in mature forests up to 300 m above sea level.
