What it is like

A shrub that loses its leaves during the year. It grows 5 m tall. The leaves are alternate and oval or sword shaped and 2-9 cm long by 1-4 cm wide.


Where it is found

It is a tropical plant. It grows on sunny mountain sides and beside streams between 1,500-3,400 m above sea level in southern China. In Sichuan and Yunnan.
