What it is like

A tree. It grows 20 m tall. The small branches have hairs. The leaves are narrowly sword shaped and 8-15 cm long by 2-6 cm wide. The base is wedge shaped. The male flowering shoots are 5-9 cm long. The female ones are 20 cm long. The cupules are in groups of 3. They enclose the nut. The outside has oily scale like glands. The nut is a flattened round shape and 1-1.3 cm long by 1.6-1.8 cm wide.
