What it is like

A shrub. It grows 1-3 m tall. The leaves have 3 leaflets. The leaflets are broadly oval and the end one is 2-5 cm long by 1-3 cm wide. They are hairy underneath. The flowers are in the axils of the leaves. The pod is round and flattened and 6-7 mm long by 5 mm wide.

There are about 100 Lespedeza species.


Where it is found

It is a temperate plant. It grows in north China on mountain slopes below 1,500 m above sea level.
