What it is like
A shrub. It grows 1-2 m tall. The small branches are stiff and spreading with rusty hairs. The leaves are oblong and 13-25 cm long by 5-8 cm wide. The flowers are in round heads 2-3 cm across. The fruit are oval and 4.5 cm across.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows in forests in shaded and wet places between 100-1,500 m above sea level.
