What it is like
A small tree. The branches are dark coloured and smooth. The leaves are alternate, or rarely opposite, smooth and pointed at both ends. The flowers are small, yellow and borne on slender flower clusters of many flowers attached directly to the base without a stalk and arranged closely on a long common axis. The fruit are rounded and brownish yellow with a hard outer covering. They contain a single seed.
There are 3 Lansium species.
Where it is found
A tropical plant. In the Philippines they occur from central Luzon to southern Mindanao growing in primary forest at low and medium altitude.
