What it is like
A tree. It grows 20-36 m high. The trunk can be 52 cm across. The branches are smooth. The leaves are narrowly oval and leathery. They are 20-25 cm long. The edges curve back. Male and female flowers are on separate trees. The flowers are small and purplish-red. The fruit are almost round. They are 5 cm across. The fruit are edible.
Where it is found
A tropical plant. It grows in Dipterocarp forests up to 1,000 m above sea level.
