What it is like

A herb that keeps growing from year to year. It has an underground stem or rhizome that i1 1-1.5 cm aross. The leaves are in a ring at the base. They are 10-120 cm long. The flowering shoots are 30-120 cm tall. The flowers are greenish-yellow. The fruit is an oval capsule 5-7 mm long by 4-6 mm wide. The seeds are 3 angled.

Also put in the family Xanthorrhoeaceae.
