What it is like
A tree. It grows about 10 m tall. The leaves are thin and papery. They have a brown covering. They are narrowly oval and 9 cm long by 4.5 cm wide. The flowers occur singly in the axils of the leaves. The stalks ae 1 cm long. The fruit is round and 3 cm across. They are 1-3 narrowly oval seeds.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows near the coast and outer islands in New Caledonia. It grows in humid forest. It can grow on limestone soils.
