What it is like
A herb. It keeps growing from year to year. It has rhizomes. The stem can lie along the ground and be 25 cm long. The leaves are at the base or crowded at the tip of the stem. They are opposite. The leaves are oblong and 3-23 cm long by 2-13 cm wide.
There are about 120-180 Didymocarpus species.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows on rocky edges of streams in forested valleys between 400-600 m above sea level. It grows in Hainan.
