What it is like
A climber. It climbs 6 m high. The stems have prickles that curve backwards. The leaves are alternate and have leaf stalks 6-14 cm long. The leaves are like fingers on a hand. They have 5-7 lobes. The leaves are 5-12 cm across. Plants are separately male and female. The male flowers are small and yellow in groups 10-17 cm long. The female flowers are in heads. The fruit is a compressed nutlet 5 mm long and across.

It grows in warm temperate areas. In Yunnan.
