What it is like

A tree up to 25 m tall. It can have buttresses. The leaves are simple and 6-15 cm long. The edges can be entire or with large indents. The fruit are 70 mm long by 63 mm wide. They occur singly or in bunches in the axils of leaves. The shape varies. It looks like an orange on the outside but is dry and grainy on the inside. The number of seeds varies from a few to many. The fruit is edible in small amounts.


Where it is found

A tropical plant. It grows naturally in the rainforest in NE Queensland in Australia. It grows from sea level to 1000 m altitude.
