What it is like
It is like Spanish iris (Iris xiphium). It is a slender bulb plant which keeps growing from year to year. The leaves are grey green and slender. They are only 0.5-3 mm wide. The flowers are dark reddish-purple.
There are about 300 Iris species.
Where it is found
It grows in dry rocky habitats.
