What it is like
A ginger family herb. It grows 50-70 cm tall. The rhizomes are branched. They are pale yellow inside. The roots produce tubers. The leaves are dark green and oval and 30 cm long b 7-8 cm wide. The flowers are at the top of false stems. The stalk is 10 cm long. The spike is 10-15 cm long by 5-7 cm wide. The flowers are white and pink.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows in the rainforests up to 150 m above sea level.
