What it is like
A shrub that grows attached to other plants. The stems are smooth. The leaves are opposite and 4-5 cm long by 3 cm wide. It contracts at the base to a winged leaf stalk. The flowers occur singly or as a few at the nodes. They have red, 5-lobed bract around them.
