What it is like
A herb. It grows 25-60 cm tall. It grows each year from seed. The stems are erect and branched. The leaves are 4-18 cm long by 1.5-7.5 cm wide. They are narrowly oval and taper to the tip and have teeth along the edge. The flowers are towards the top and are yellow with red streaks towards the throat. They are3-4 cm long. The fruit capsule is 23 cm long and narrow. The seeds are oblong and 3 mm long.
