What it is like
A tree. It grows 15-30 m high. The twigs have strong ridges. The leaves are 10-27 cm long by 3-8 cm wide. The flowering shoots have dense hairs. The flowers are greenish. The fruit are yellow to brown and edible.

It is a tropical plant. It grows in primary forest on clay soils. It grows on the coastal plain up to 600 m altitude.
