What it is like
A herb or shrub that keeps growing from year to year. It grows 1.5 m tall. It has an underground stem or rhizome 9 cm long by 4 cm wide. The leaves have 3 leaflets. These are narrowly oval and 20-30 cm long by 8-12 cm wide.
