What it is like

A large woody creeper. It keeps its leaves throughout the year. The leaves have 3-5 leaflets arranged like fingers on a hand. The leaves are 6-14 cm long by 4-6 cm wide. The fruit are often in pairs. They are oblong and 6-9 cm long. There are many black seeds.

Also put in the family Lardizabalaceae.


Where it is found

It is a subtropical and tropical plant. In grows in mixed forests on mountain slopes and along valleys between 1,100-3,000 m above sea level in southern China. In Sichuan and Yunnan.
