What it is like
A shrub. It loses its leaves during the year. It grows 2 m high. The young branches do not have hairs. They are red. The leaves are oval or heart shaped with 3-5 lobes. The leaves are 15 cm long. The flowers are greenish-purple. They are along stalks 12 cm long. The fruit are red-black.

It is a temperate plant. It is native to western China.
