What it is like
A herb. It grows 2 m tall. It keeps growing from year to year. The stems have flattened hairs. The leaves are narrowly sword shaped and 6 cm long by 3 cm wide. The flowers are 2-3 cm across. They are red or pink. The fruit capsule is 9 mm long by 9 mm wide. The seeds have a white silky floss.

It is a subtropical plant. It grows on the edge of rivers.
