What it is like
A small herb. It has leaves at the base and alternate leaves up the stem. The leaves at the base are simple, and a broad heart shape. It is 45 cm tall. The leaves have leaf stalks. The flower petals are 7-12 mm long.
Where it is found
It grows in moist stream banks. In Canada it grows up to sub-alpine sites.
