What it is like

A shrub. It loses its leaves during the year. It grows 1-2 m high. The branches are brown. The leaves ar almost round. They are 2-3 cm long and wide. The leaves are bluish-green underneath. The leaf stalks are 3-8 mm long. The flowers are white. There are 15-30 in a group. They grow on the end of the current year's growth.


Where it is found

It is a temperate plant. It is native of northern China and Siberia. In North China it grows in open rocky slopes and mountain regions between 400-2,400 m above sea level.
