What it is like
A shrub or tree. It grows 3-16 m high. The trunk is 10-15 cm across. The bark is smooth and flaky. The leaves have 3-7 pairs of leaflets. The flowering stalks are in the axils of leaves towards the ends of branches. The fruit is 1.4-1.9 cm long by 1-2 cm wide.
It is endemic to Sabah.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows in the understorey in the primary rainforest. It is usually on sands and below 30 m altitude.
