What it is like
A shrub. It loses many leaves during the year. It grows 1.5 m tall. The leaves are fully developed when the flowers appear. There are tufts of hairs under the leaf where the veins join. The flower stalks are longer than the flowers. The flowers occur singly. The fruit is 2-3 cm across and yellow. The pulp is juicy and sweet.
There are at least 11 Campomanesia species.
