What it is like
A tree. It grows 4-15 m tall. The bark is brown and has furrows. The branches are angular. The leaves are oblong and 7-21 cm long by 1-5 cm wide. They are green above and whiter underneath. The flowers are in a group and are yellow to ornage.
The leaves are used as medicine.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. Arboretum Tasmania. In the Andes it grows between 2,700-4,500 m above sea level.
