What it is like
A small tree. The leaves are narrowly oval or sword shaped and have teeth along the edge. They are thin and have 3 nerves. The flowers are greenish-white. They ar e in groups in the axils of leaves. The fruit are smooth and have 1-4 lobes. They are black when ripe.
Also put in the family Tiliaceae.
Where it is found
It is a subtropical plant. It grows in the lower Himalayas and up to 1,200 m above sea level.
