What it is like
A tree. It grows 10-30 m high. The leaf stalks are 2-18 cm long. The leaf blade is broadly oval and 10-45 cm long by 4-26 cm wide. The flowers are on the trunk. They are waxy and yellow. Male and female flowers are separate. The fruit are 4-6 cm across.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows in forests and often near rivers and on slopes. It grows from sea level to 1,300 m altitude.
