What it is like
A pineapple type plant. It grows 3 m tall. It has many long leaves. They are 1.4-2 m long and 30-45 cm wide. There can be teeth along the edge. The flowering shoots are 4-10 cm long.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. In Colombia it grows between 60-440 m above sea level. It can grow to 1,200 m above sea level.
