What it is like
A shrub or low tree. It grows 5-7 m high. The bark is smooth and grey. The leaves are in clusters on short shoots. The leaves are round to kidney shaped and can have 3-5 lobes. The leaves are 2-5 cm long by 2-7 cm wide. The male flowers are in group 4.5 cm long and female flowers usually occur singly. The fruit is fleshy and a flattened round shape. It is 27 mm long by 26 mm wide. It turns yellow. It is woody. The seeds are oval and 14 mm long by 12 mm wide. They are pale yellow mottled with brown.

It is a tropical plant. It has been recorded between 50-210 m above sea level in Somalia.
