What it is like
A bamboo. It forms clumps. It grows 15 m tall. The stalks are 6-12 cm across. They are bluish-green. The sheath has dark brown hairs. The blade is broadly sword shaped and it is hairy underneath. The flowers can be on the leafless or leafy branches.

It is a tropical plant. It grows up to 400 m above sea level.
