What it is like

A palm. It may grow 1-5 m tall. The stem is 1-2 cm wide. There are 8-13 leaves per trunk. The leaves are 1.7 m long. The leaves have about 4-42 leaflets on each side of the leaf. The flowering stalk is 6-25 cm long. (The leaves and flowers vary with altitude.) The fruit are about 7-10 mm long by 5-8 mm wide.

It is a tropical plant. It grows in seasonally dry areas.
