What it is like

A tree. It grows 10-15 m tall. The trunk is 20-30 cm across. The bark is grey-brown. The leaves are oval to sword shaped and 10-13 cm long by 3-5 cm wide. Plants are separately male and female. The male flowers are in groups of 6-8. They are yellow. The ripe fruit are yellow and round or oval. They are 2.5-3.5 cm long by 1.5-2 cm wide. There are 1 or 2 seeds.

It has a chemical that has anti-cancer properties.


Where it is found

It is a subtropical plant. It grows between 1,100-1,700 m above sea level. In Yunnan.
