What it is like

A tree. It grows 30 m tall. The trunk has lies up it for 50 cm. The bark is brown and rough. The leaves are in opposite pairs spaced along the branches. The leaves are broadest in the middle and 6-12 cm long by 2-5 cm wide. The leaves are dark green above and more pale underneath. The flowering shoots are in the axils of the leaves. Male and female flowers are separate but on the same plant. The fruit is 2 cm long and 2 cm wide.


Where it is found

It is a tropical plant. In Papua (Indonesia). It has been recorded at 2,000 m above sea level.
