What it is like
A bulb plant. The bulbs are oval and 2.5-3 cm across. The scales are white. The stem is 40-80 cm high. It has white stiff hairs. The leaves are scattered. They are narrow and sword shaped. The flowers can be single or as 3 together. They are nodding. The flowers are red, orange or yellow with dense black speckles.
There are about 100 -115 Lilium species. They are bulb plants found in the temperate northern hemisphere.
