What it is like

A shrub. It grows 1-1.5 m high. The leaves are grey-green. The stems are slightly downy. The leaves have deep teeth. The flowers are pale purple and in spikes 2.5-5 cm long. They are on long stems above the leaves.

There are about 28 Lavandula species.

A warm temperate plant. It grows in dry rocky places. It suits hardiness zones 9-11. Kyneton Botanical Gardens.
