What it is like

A herb. The stem is hairy and 50 cm tall. It ha s network of rhizomes that have tubers. The tubers are pale and several cm long by 1 cm wide. They are segmented. The leaves are opposite and 5.5 cm long. The flowers are in clusters of 3-6.

There are about 300 Stachys species.
