What it is like
A herb. It has a bulb 2 cm across. There are usually 2 leaves. These are very narrow and are produced after the flowers. The flower stalk is slender and 20 cm long. The flowers occur singly and are erect or nodding. They are tube shaped and 1.5 cm long then widening to 4 cm wide at the mouth. They are red.

It is a subtropical plant.
