What it is like
A shrub or small tree. It grows 3 m tall. It loses its leaves during the year. The twigs are green and 4 angled. The leaves are oval and 6-10 cm long by 3-5 cm wide. There are several flowers on branched stalks. The fruit capsule has 5 angles and deep grooves. They are 1 cm long by 1.3 cm wide. The seeds are dark brown and narrowly oval.
There are about 175 Euonymus species.
Where it is found
It is a subtropical plant. It grows in woodlands between 100-1,600 m above sea level.
