What it is like

A small tree. The branches are short, stout and greyish black. The leaves are broadly sword shaped and 10-20 cm long by 3-7 cm wide. They are thickly leathery. They are pale underneath. The flowers are in a pyramid shaped group 15 cm across made up of many flowers. The flower petals are yellow. The fruit is round and brown and 1.5 cm across. It has rusty hairs.


Where it is found

It is a tropical plant. It grows in Yunnan in China. It grows in broad-leaved forests between 1,600-2,400 m above sea level.
