A herb. It keeps growing from year to year. It grows 45-80 cm tall. The stems can lie along the ground or be erect. They have rusty coloured hairs. The leaves are alternate. They are an oblique narrowly oval shape. They are 5-15 cm long by 2.5-4.5 cm wide. Male and female flowers are separate.
