What it is like
A tree. It grows from 2 to 20 m high. The trunk is 20 cm across. The leaves are narrowly oval and 11-35 cm long by 5-20 cm wide. The flowers are green and turn yellow. The fruit are oval and 2-6 cm long by 2-5 cm wide. They are green and turn yellow when ripe. The seeds are 6-8 mm long by 3-4 mm wide.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows from sea level to about 800 m altitude. In Columbia it grows from 100-1,400 m above sea level.
