What it is like
A low shrub. It grows 0.5-1.5 m high. The branches are divided and without hairs and has many spurs. The leaves are 4-7 cm long. There are teeth along the edge. The leaves are congested in clusters on spurs. The flowers occur singly and are bright pink. The appear the same time as the leaves. They fruit are pale yellow. They are 1-2 cm long by 1.2-1.8 cm wide. The stone has an irregular net appearance. The kernels are bitter but contain oil.
Where it is found
In Kazakhstan it grows in grassland and on hills.
