What it is like

A large tree. The leaves have an odd number of leaflets in 9 to 12 opposite pairs. The leaves are 12 cm x 4 cm on 5 mm long leaf stalks. The flowers are in clusters at the ends of branches. The nuts are triangular in cross section and oval in long section.

There are 80-95 Canarium species.


Where it is found

A tropical plant. They occur in Ilocos Sur, Quezon, Mindoro, Palawan, Negros, Samar and Basilan in the Philippines.
